New surfacing completed on Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway in Meath

The Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway in Meath has received a major upgrade, with 7km of new bituminous surfacing now complete, providing a smoother and more accessible route for residents.
With these improvements, there is now over 10km of continuous bituminous surface from Wilkinstown to Nobber, significantly enhancing the user experience along this popular Meath Greenway.
The upgrades make it safer and easier for people of all ages to enjoy cycling, walking, and running along the scenic trail.
The surfacing works were funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).
This project forms part of a larger initiative to apply a bituminous surface along the entire Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway over the next two years.
Meath County Council thanked Greenway users and service providers for their “cooperation through the recent surfacing works.”
The Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway connects towns and villages across Meath while offering a scenic corridor for outdoor activities. Once fully upgraded, it is expected to encourage sustainable travel and active lifestyles for both residents and visitors.
