Meath clubs invited to apply sports grant — Here’s what you need to know
A grant scheme has been launched to provide vital funding for sports clubs and community groups across County Meath.
The 2025 Club Grant Scheme, run by Meath Local Sports Partnership, aims to increase participation in sport, support local clubs, and create inclusive opportunities for all members of the community.
Two grants are available: the Small Equipment Grant, offering up to €500, and the Disability Inclusion Grant, offering up to €1,500.
Clubs and organisations based in Meath can apply, with the application deadline set for Thursday, October 23, 2025.
A spokesperson for Meath LSP said: “The Club Grant Scheme provides clubs and communities with an opportunity to avail of funding for vital programmes and club supports. It offers a necessary lifeline to smaller clubs by supporting everything from equipment purchases to capacity building for volunteers.”
The Disability Inclusion Grant aims to help more people with disabilities access sport and physical activity locally.
“By supporting clubs to run inclusive programmes and purchase essential equipment, the grant will create welcoming opportunities for all abilities, fostering inclusion as a standard part of community sport in Meath,” the spokesperson said.
Previous grants have enabled clubs to expand programmes, open new age groups, and introduce inclusive sections for people with disabilities.
“Some clubs have even expanded to communities that were previously less accessible, allowing more people to enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity,” they added.
For clubs applying for the 2025 scheme, Meath LSP recommends reviewing the application form carefully, gathering necessary information, and clearly illustrating how funding will create impactful opportunities, such as enabling access for young girls or disadvantaged participants.
The Club Grant Scheme is said to support Meath LSP’s mission to increase participation in sport, foster inclusivity, upskill volunteers, and support disadvantaged communities.
