Major expansion approved for secondary school in Meath

Planning permission has been granted for a major extension at a secondary school in Meath set to include new classrooms, science labs, and a state-of-the-art all-weather pitch.
The approved plans for LMETB will see Coláiste na hIinse Secondary School get 11 general classrooms, two science labs, a home economics room, two SET rooms, a fitness suite, and a standalone technical building featuring a technology room and a construction studies room.
The project also provides new services, a staff vehicular entrance, and a brand-new all-weather pitch, offering modern facilities to support both academic and extracurricular activities for students.
Bettystown/Laytown councillor Sharon Tolan, who has strong ties to the school — her sons attended Coláiste na hIinse and she served on the Board of Management for ten years, including five as chairwoman — welcomed the news on social media.
She said: “This school holds a very special place in my heart…I wish them well as they proceed to tender and construction and as always, will be happy to assist in any way I can. What a great start to the new term.”
