A leisure centre in Meath has officially unveiled its newly refurbished dry changing rooms following extensive works completed earlier this year.

The refurbishment for Navan Aura Leisure Centre included a complete transformation of the dry changing areas, with old floors, wall finishes, sanitaryware, lockers, benches, cubicles, mirrors, and ceiling fittings removed.

The male and female changing areas were reconfigured to improve functionality, while the sauna was completely renovated.

New floor and wall tiles were installed, alongside upgraded lighting, including emergency lighting, new changing and shower cubicles, new showers with thermostatic mixers, and new sanitaryware and hand dryers.

The total cost of the project was €315,000, with €200,000 funded through the Community Sport Facilities Fund via the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.

Aura Leisure Centre has been a key sports and exercise destination in Navan since 2000. Facilities include a 25-metre swimming pool offering lessons for adults, children, and babies, a spacious weightlifting area, cardio machines, stationary bikes, treadmills, and a wide range of fitness classes.

Mayor of Navan, Cllr Padraig Fitzsimons, welcomed the upgrades, saying: "These significant upgrades are a great example of how continued investment in our public facilities enhances the quality of life for many in our communities."

He added: "This fantastic investment ensures the changing facilities meet the highest standards of comfort, safety, and accessibility for the many people who walk through the doors of this tremendous business."
