Green light in Meath for major logistics and light industrial development with five warehouses

A major logistics and light industrial development with a total floor area of more than 50,000 sq m has been granted planning permission in Meath.
Meath County Council approved the project by Hickcastle Limited on February 27 for lands to the east and south of the existing Hub Logistics Park in the townlands of Gunnocks and Portmanna near Clonee.
The development will consist of five warehouse, logistics and light industrial buildings with a combined gross floor area of approximately 50,473 sq m.
Three large warehouse and logistics units will be located to the north of a proposed internal access road. Each building will have a floor area of just over 13,000 sq m, with warehouse space at ground level and ancillary office, reception, canteen and staff welfare facilities provided across two floors. The buildings will reach a maximum height of 16.8 metres.
Meanwhile, a further two buildings to the south of the access road will contain a total of eight smaller warehouse and light industrial units. These buildings will have a maximum height of approximately 10 metres.
The development, which was lodged in May 2025, also includes extensive parking and servicing facilities, with car parking provided for employees and visitors, along with dedicated service yards, heavy goods vehicle loading areas and circulation space.
Solar panels are proposed for the roofs of all five buildings as part of the development’s energy strategy.
Access to the site will be provided via the existing entrance to the Hub Logistics Park, which will be extended eastwards to serve the new units.
The project will also include associated infrastructure works such as foul and surface water drainage systems, a pumping station, attenuation tanks, landscaping and external lighting.
An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) accompanied the planning application submitted to the council.
