Dunshaughlin water pressure affected after power issue at treatment plant

By Olivia Ryan, Irish Independent

A power issue at a local water treatment plant in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath may cause residents to experience reduced water pressure, Uisce Éireann has said.

The utility said its operations team is working to repair the issue, with normal supply expected to be restored by this evening.

In the meantime, an Uisce Éireann tanker has been deployed to ensure that HSE facilities and care homes in the area have sufficient water in their storage tanks while works continue.

Uisce Éireann’s Enda Cully said every effort is being made to restore supply as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers impacted for their support while our repair works are ongoing. Our Operations crews are working to reduce the impact; however some customers may experience reduced pressure until the repair work is completed this evening.”

Vulnerable residents who have registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communications in the event of planned or unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
