Community groups across Meath are being invited to apply for grants ranging from €10,000 to €100,000 under Meath County Council’s Community Amenity Project Scheme 2025.

The scheme provides financial assistance to support the development and enhancement of community, sports, cultural, heritage and environmental facilities throughout the county.

Its purpose is to help local organisations improve shared spaces and deliver long-lasting benefits to towns, villages and rural communities.

Applications are open until December 12, 2025, and priority will be given to projects that demonstrate strong “community participation”, collaboration between local groups, and a clear social or economic impact.

Eligible initiatives include the development or refurbishment of community centres, parks, sports and recreational facilities, as well as arts, cultural and heritage projects and investment in community service infrastructure.

The scheme will also provide support for professional fees up to €3,000 per project.

According to Meath County Council, the 2025 programme reflects its ongoing strategy to “build inclusive, active and sustainable communities” across the county.

The council is encouraging local groups to submit well-planned proposals that demonstrate long-term impact, and broad community engagement.

Full details, including the guidelines and application forms, are available on the council’s website.
