Calls for speed ramps as new signage approved on Mornington road in Meath

The installation of additional speed signage on Church Road, Mornington has been approved by Meath County Council, but local representatives are calling for speed ramps along the road to further improve safety.
The move follows lobbying from councillors, who have urged the council to introduce additional traffic-calming measures.
South Drogheda and East Meath Councillor Stephen McKee (Fianna Fáil) welcomed the new signage but said more work is needed.
“I am pleased that Meath County Council have approved the installation of further speed signage on Church Road, Mornington. But what is now needed are speed ramps along the road to improve road safety,” he said.
“Much of the recent funding for road safety measures in that area was for Donacarney National School, through the ‘Safe Routes to School’ programme, which was very welcome.”
He added: “I am pushing the Council for further traffic-calming measures, including another ramp on the Colpe side of the Donacarney junction and speed ramps down Church Road, Mornington.”
