Additional signage for Meath’s Boyne Valley Greenway to be explored

Additional signage is set to be explored in Navan to better guide visitors to the Boyne Valley Greenway, following a call by a local councillor.
At the December meeting of Navan Municipal District, Fine Gael councillor John Duffy asked Meath County Council to put in place directional signs at key locations throughout Navan town to indicate the beginning of the Boyne Valley Greenway.
His call also includes the installation of “an information board at the start containing both historical references and references to available services”.
The Boyne Valley Greenway is a shared walking and cycling route that follows the River Boyne and forms part of a wider plan to develop sustainable transport and tourism infrastructure in Meath.
The route offers scenic views while promoting outdoor activity and local tourism.
In response to Cllr Duffy’s motion, Meath County Council confirmed that display panels have been installed for maps along the Greenway.
“The maps are currently in production and should be on display in December,” the council said.
Meanwhile, the installation of additional signage within Navan directing people to the Greenway will be explored in conjunction with the Navan Municipal District and the Economic and Tourism Office.
Cllr Duffy added that the signage does not have to be a “major structure”, but simply something “more visible”.
