60km/h speed limits to be introduced on M2 and N2 during road works in Meath – ‘Arriving safely is what matters most’

Parts of a motorway and national road in Meath will see speed limits reduced to 60km/h this week as resurfacing and improvement works get underway on sections of the M2 and N2.
The works, which are due to begin on Monday, April 20, will continue until Saturday, May 23, both dates inclusive.
The reduced limits will apply on parts of the M2 Motorway and N2 Road in the townlands of Baltrasna and Fleenstown Little.
The changes will temporarily reduce the M2 motorway speed limit from 120km/h to 60km/h, and the N2 national primary road limit from 100km/h to 60km/h for the duration of the works.
This will remain in place for the duration of the works to facilitate road resurfacing and improve safety for both motorists and road crews.
"We encourage all road users to be mindful of the works and drive with caution,” Meath County Council said.
“Arriving safely is what matters most.”
