A 60-home affordable housing scheme with prices starting at €340,000 and income limits of up to €101,000 is set to launch in Dunboyne.

Meath County Council, in partnership with Glenveagh Homes, has announced that 48 two-bedroom terrace houses and 12 three-bedroom end-terrace homes will be offered for sale under the Affordable Housing Scheme at Bennetstown.

Prices for the properties will be linked to applicants’ income and mortgage capacity, with indicative purchase prices for two-bedroom homes ranging from €340,000 to €418,000, compared to a market value of €440,000.

Three-bedroom homes are expected to be priced between €375,000 and €451,250, with a market value of €475,000.

Under the scheme, buyers must provide a minimum 10pc deposit, while the council will take an equity stake of between 5pc and approximately 22pc in each property, reducing the upfront cost for buyers.

The maximum household income limit is set at €94,050 for two-bedroom homes and €101,531 for three-bedroom properties.

The development is located close to Dunboyne village and offers access to local amenities, as well as transport links to Dublin city centre, Navan and Maynooth. Regular bus services also connect the area to Dublin.

According to the council, the homes will be A-rated and incorporate energy-efficient and renewable technologies aimed at reducing long-term energy costs.

The scheme forms part of ongoing efforts to deliver affordable housing in key commuter areas across Meath. The online application portal is due to open at 12 noon on Thursday, May 7, and will remain open until all homes have been allocated.
