Four men to appear in court following criminal damage to Mayo properties
Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating a number of incidents of criminal damage that occurred at homes in Westport and Newport, Co. Mayo, on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The damage involved the breaking of windows at the properties.
As part of the investigation, Gardaí arrested four adult males, two aged in their 20s and two in their late teens.
All four were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda stations in Co. Mayo.
Gardaí confirmed that that the four men have since been charged.
They were due before Castlebar District Court on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
