Louth community groups share €181k amenity grant funds

The annual scheme provides financial support to a wide range of organisations, including Tidy Towns committees, residents’ associations, community groups and environmental organisations, helping them to maintain and enhance local areas.
The grants support a wide range of activities, including landscaping, planting, minor maintenance works, biodiversity initiatives, and environmental improvement projects in housing estates and community areas.
Commenting on funding, the Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, Cllr Seán Kelly said: “The dedication and hard work of our Tidy Towns groups, Residents’ Associations, and community organisations is truly commendable. These grants recognise that commitment and provide essential support to ensure our shared spaces are well maintained and continue to thrive. The impact of their efforts is visible in every town and village across County Louth.”
Joanna Kelly, Director of Services at Louth County Council added: “The Amenity Grant Scheme is a key part of Louth County Council’s commitment to empowering communities to lead the enhancement of their local environments.
