Dundalk to Carlingford Greenway awareness events now available to book
The Drogheda IndependentLouth County Council has announced public awareness events will soon get underway on proposals for the Dundalk Bay to Carlingford Greenway.
The sessions will accommodate groups of up to thirty people and will offer the same “high-level overview” which was presented to county councillors in November last.
The details emerged after an update on the project was sought by Cllr. Antoin Watters at the January meeting of Louth County Council.
David Jones, Director of Service at Louth County Council, said that public consultation (3) is ongoing at the moment, and the deadline has been extended until the end of February.
He said the council are encouraging people to make contact with the them if they received letters outlining that their property or land might be affected by the proposals.
The update on invitations to meet with affected landowners was “relatively slow so far,” he told the meeting.
"We would encourage people to avail of that opportunity,” said Mr. Jones.
He added that they are hosting general awareness sessions on the greenway proposals, including group meetings,
He said: “it makes sense to have information sessions,” and that groups of up to thirty people could take part.
The council have stressed that any property or land owner impacted should continue to make contact with the project team separately as the awareness events won’t include discussions on individual cases.
Anyone who would like to attend a group session for the high-level overview of the project should contact the project team either by email: DundalkCarlingfordGreenway@rod.ie or by phone: 087 6011384.
