Longford's Albert Reynolds Peace Park officially one of Ireland’s best parks/green spaces
The park earned an international quality mark, the Green Flag Award
The Albert Reynolds Peace Park in Longford town has been given a 2025 Green Flag Award, officially making it one of Ireland’s best parks and green spaces.
The Green Flag Award sets the global standard for well-managed, publicly accessible green spaces, and is assessed on eight key points of criteria including environmental care.
This year, 120 sites throughout Ireland earned the international quality mark thus making it the holder of the highest number of Green Flag Awards in the EU. Longford's Albert Reynolds Peace Park is now proudly included on that list.
Marking the achievement was Longford County Council's Director of Services John Brannigan, Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Niall Gannon, members of Longford Town and Suburbs CLG, Community Employment Scheme staff, Longford County Council staff, and students from St Michael’s Boys School.
