Update issued on highly-anticipated Kildare apartments project
Kildare County Council (KCC) has issued an update in relation to a highly-anticipated South Kildare housing project.
The information was given to Labour Party councillor Aoife Breslin at the latest Athy Municipal District meeting, which took place on Monday, May 18.
She began the conversation about the project when she asked KCC to provide an update on the proposed apartment units at Convent Lane in Athy.
In response, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “Clúid, the Approved Housing Body (AHB) responsible for this project, has advised that they expect contractors to commence this project on site in June 2026.”
After receiving this report, Cllr Breslin re-emphasised her intention to see Clúid ‘commence the project as soon as possible’.
