New bridge project on the way for this Kildare region

By Ciarán Mather, Leinster Leader

The plan was revealed at a recent Kildare County Council meeting

Kildare County Council (KCC) has confirmed that it is working on a new bridge project in North Kildare.

The answer was provided to a councillor who was in attendance at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, April 10 last.

Specifically, Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney asked KCC the following question: Can the council confirm if it is working with Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Irish Rail regarding a new road bridge at Jackson Bridge, Maynooth?"

In response, KCC told her via the report it presented at the meeting: "The Roads Capital Projects Team are working with the DART+ Depot Project Team to deliver a new bridge adjacent to Jackson Bridge."

Cllr Feeney subsequently said that she welcomed KCC's report.
