Update 3 – October Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operation, Thursday 22nd October to Tuesday 27th October 2026
An Garda Síochána is conducting a roads policing operation from 22nd to 27th October 2026. Two fatalities have been recorded so far. 77 people were arrested for driving under the influence, and over 2,300 drivers were detected for speeding. Gardaí are urging road users to adhere to speed limits, avoid driving under the influence, and wear seatbelts. Vulnerable road users are being reminded to stay visible and be cautious.
