Gardaí renew appeal to identify woman whose remains were found in Midleton
Gardaí renewed their appeal on Thursday 2 October 2025 for help to identify a woman whose skeletal remains were found at a construction site on the Midleton to Youghal Greenway on 5 January 2021.
Forensic examinations suggest she was over 70 when she died, about 5ft to 5ft 2in tall and of large frame, and that she had arthritis. She wore dentures believed to have been made privately around the 1960s, and was found with a slip, tights, a nightdress and size 2 brown leather shoes.
A facial reconstruction image has been prepared. DNA has been checked against the national database without a match, missing persons records have not identified her, and Gardaí are working with Interpol.
