Two men charged after three firearms found in car in Charleville
Two men, in their 30s and 40s, were charged after Gardaí found three firearms and ammunition in a car stopped at a service station in Charleville at about 11pm on Wednesday 20 August 2025.
Gardaí from Charleville Garda Station also found suspected diamorphine worth about €800. Follow-up searches at homes in Co. Cork the next day turned up more ammunition.
The men were held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 and were due before a special sitting of Mallow District Court on Friday 22 August 2025. The firearms were sent for ballistic and forensic tests.
