Two-bedroom starter homes to go on sale in Fingal from €380,000

Two-bedroom starter homes in Kinsealy, Co Dublin will go on sale from €380,000 under a scheme designed to help eligible buyers “overcome affordability barriers”.

Applications are set to open next month for the first 50 starter homes at Golding Green, a new development between Clarehall and Malahide being delivered by the Land Development Agency (LDA) and Fingal County Council.

The two-bedroom homes will be available from €380,000, while prices for three-bedroom houses will start at €440,000.

Mayor of Fingal, Tony Murphy, said: “While delivering new homes is incredibly important, creating a well-connected, sustainable community where people can put down roots and enjoy access to quality amenities, green spaces and active travel links is also absolutely vital.”

“Golding Green will make a valuable contribution to the growth of Kinsealy and to meeting the housing needs of Fingal’s communities.”

Fingal County Council said it will manage the sale of the homes through its Starter Homes Purchase Scheme, formerly known as the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme.

The scheme allows eligible buyers to bridge the gap between the price of a home and the amount they can raise through their own funds and mortgage.

It operates through a shared equity arrangement, with Fingal County Council taking an equity stake in the property. This can be repaid by the homeowner or settled when the property is sold.

The 50 homes are the first properties to go on sale at Golding Green, which will eventually provide 193 Starter and Social homes.

The wider development will also include a crèche, public open space, a football pitch, pedestrian links and a cycle greenway.

The development is located close to the Malahide Road and is served by bus routes, while Portmarnock DART station provides rail access.

Fingal County Council chief executive AnnMarie Farrelly said the scheme would help eligible purchasers “overcome affordability barriers and secure a high-quality new home in a growing and well-served location”.

“We look forward to supporting successful applicants as this new community takes shape,” she added.

Applications for the first 50 homes will open at 12pm on October 8 and close at 5pm on October 29.
