Donegal ETB pays tribute to ‘valued student’ Josh Morrow

By Aoife Gallagher, Donegal Democrat

Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) has paid tribute to the late Josh Morrow, a 16-year-old student who tragically passed away.

Josh was tragically killed when the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a road traffic collision in Cloghan.

From Stranabrattogue, Cloghan, Josh was a student at Finn Valley College in Stranorlar and a former pupil at Welchtown National School.

“Finn Valley College lost a valued student, Josh Morrow,” Director of Schools, Dr Martin Gormley, said. “It is a sad time, it was a critical incident and it is a difficult, difficult time.”

Josh was a talented rugby player at Finn Valley Rugby Club - where he was named player of the season in 2025. He featured for the Ulster U18 clubs, having previously played at U16 level for the province. He represented Glenfin GAA club, played for Cappry Rovers FC and was on the Finn Valley College squad.

Josh was laid to rest in Cill Mhuire Cemetery following a requiem Mass at The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin on Tuesday, April 28.

A minute's silence was also held for Josh and the late Lewis Kelly of Malin GAA, who passed away last week, by the Donegal Masters GAA panel on Saturday. Donegal defeated Cavan 2-12 to 2-9 at Gaelic Park in Bundoran.
