Caitríona Nic Seóin to replace the late Stephen McCahill at Donegal ETB

Caitríona Nic Seóin has been selected to replace the late Stephen McCahill as a member of the Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB).
The nomination and subsequent appointment were made at the May meeting of the Donegal ETB.
Ms Nic Seóin is the Cathaoirleach at Gaelscoil na gCeithre Máistrí in Donegal Town. She will now take up the position on the board that was vacated following the sudden death of Mr McCahill.
Donegal ETB paid tribute to Mr McCahill, who had served in the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers role as well as on the Finance Committee at Donegal ETB.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of our Donegal Education and Training Board member, Mr Stephen McCahill.
“Our thoughts are very much with Stephen's immediate family, wife Marietta, and children Stephen and Gemma, at this difficult time. We are also thinking of his sister Patricia Murray, who is a Special Needs Assistant at Moville Community College, and the communities of Ardara and Glenties.”
There are 21 members elected to the ETB; 12 are selected by Donegal County Council, two staff nominees, two nominated by the parents association, and 5 members are appointed by the government to represent the various departments.
Donegal ETB provides a broad range of education and training services, including post-primary schools and colleges, Further Education and Training (FET), and outdoor education and training.
