Bollards on the way to stop cars mounting footpath to avoid ramp

By Rachel McLaughlin, Donegal Daily

Bollards are to be installed opposite Crievesmith Park in Letterkenny to prevent motorists from mounting the footpath to avoid a speed ramp.

Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh raised the issue at Tuesday's Municipal District meeting on behalf of local residents, who have raised concerns about the common practice in the area.

The road, which links Crievesmith/ Oldtown to Bomany, had a new path and ramp installed in recent years as part of active travel works.

Bollards are already in place further up the road, and Cllr Kavanagh welcomed confirmation that more will now be installed at Crievesmith Park before the end of August.
