Witness Appeal - Fatal Hit and Run Road Traffic Collision, Nugentstown, Kells, Co. Meath, 25th August 2026

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal hit-and-run road traffic collision in Nugentstown, Kells, Co. Meath, on 25 August 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 8:05pm between a van and a cyclist, an adult male in his late teens, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body has been taken to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan for a postmortem examination. The coroner has been notified, and the road remains closed with local diversions in place. Gardaí are seeking anyone who may have camera footage, including dash cam or mobile phone recordings, from the area between 7:30pm and 8:30pm on the evening of the collision.
