Large-scale solar farm and battery storage facility approved for Ballymahon area

BNRG Ballymahon Limited has been granted permission to build a major solar farm and battery storage facility across about 111 hectares near Ballymahon. The solar installation will have around 700,000 square metres of panels generating up to 80 MW of electricity, along with 56 energy storage containers to store power. The permission lasts 10 years with a 40-year operational lifespan.
