Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an incident of violent disorder in Leopardstown, Dublin 18, on 29 August 2026. At approximately 8:25pm, reports were received of an incident at South County Business Park involving multiple individuals. A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition at Beaumont Hospital. Two other males, also in their 20s, received non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at St Vincent’s Hospital. A male in his 20s was arrested and is being detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. An incident room has been established at Dundrum Garda Station, and the scene is preserved for examination. Gardaí are seeking footage from the Vantage Apartments, Central Park, and South County Business Park between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on 29 August 2026. Anyone with information is urged to contact Dundrum Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. Investigations are ongoing.

On 21 August 2026, the body of a female in her 30s was discovered in an apartment on Lower Cecil Street, Limerick City. Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery. The body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons. A murder investigation has been initiated, with a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) appointed to lead the inquiry. An incident room has been established at Henry Street Garda Station, and a technical examination of the scene is ongoing. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the deceased’s family. Anyone with information is urged to contact Henry Street Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
