Electric Picnic Motorists asked to follow Garda Traffic Plan, Official Signage and Garda Directions

As Electric Picnic begins, large volumes of traffic are expected in Stradbally, Co Laois, from 27 August to 31 August. Festival-goers are encouraged to use public transport, with shuttle services available from Portlaoise and Portarlington train stations. An Garda Síochána urges motorists to follow the Garda traffic plan, official signage, and Garda directions. Garda checkpoints will be in place to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with potential arrests and blood sample testing. Car parks will open at 2pm on 27 August, and roadside parking will not be permitted. The only collection point for vehicles will be at the pick-up drop-off facility near the N80. This is an appeal to motorists to follow traffic directions and ensure safety.
