Thatch roof replaced with slate or tile on cottage

Esther McGrath has been given the go-ahead to replace the thatch roof on her cottage in Cregmore, Claregalway with a slate or tile roof instead. The council approved the work on 28 April 2026, but she'll need to stick to using slate or tiles as the replacement material.
