Convicted sex offender fails in appeal over having gun in suspicious circumstances

A convicted sex offender who was found with a semi-automatic pistol in suspicious circumstances after the death of a young man in Dublin has failed in an appeal against the severity of his nine-year sentence. Edward McDonnell was arrested for possession of the weapon in 2019 by gardai who suspected
