Man who attacked girlfriend disputes claim he locked her in "dog cage"

There was no enquiry into an allegation that a Meath man jailed for assaulting his girlfriend locked the woman in a dog cage, his lawyers have claimed at the Court of Appeal. The submission was made by a lawyer for Andrew Smith (24), who appeared at the court to appeal the severity of his sentence.
