The Workplace Relations Commission rejected litho printer Declan Walshe’s unfair dismissal claim against Poolville Ltd, trading as Labelcraft. Adjudicator Catherine Byrne found that his relationship with colleagues and management was “entirely dysfunctional” and that his allegation about his manager was the last straw; the WRC said any reasonable employer would have acted the same way.

Walshe was dismissed on 30 September 2024 after the company investigated his allegation that the manager had gone through his bag, although Walshe said he had only suggested the manager “must have had a sneak peek”. The proceedings were reported on 16 March 2026.
