The Workplace Relations Commission found that five former employees of Ascot Catering Ltd, which operated Ciao Bella Roma in Dublin, were unfairly dismissed and ordered the company to pay a total of €62,600. The restaurant had closed in March 2020 without paying their final wages or notice pay.

The orders included €15,403 for unfair dismissal, €4,772 in unpaid wages, €9,706 in notice pay and €31,371.80 for working-time breaches. The WRC also found serious failures to provide statutory breaks; four of the workers had made working-time complaints.
