After David Moore and a solicitor walked out of a WRC hearing in May 2025, adjudicator Jim Dolan concluded the case. In a decision issued in November, Dolan upheld all but one of Sonya Martin’s complaints against Astronomy Ireland and four management committee members, including Moore.

Martin had complained of constructive dismissal and employment rights breaches. The WRC awarded her €3,077 for constructive dismissal and a further €7,707 for failures involving statutory sick leave, annual leave, public holidays and a written statement of employment terms. Astronomy Ireland, Moore and the other committee members were directed to pay her €10,784 within 42 days.
