WRC awards €6,500 in disability discrimination case

The Workplace Relations Commission found that an unnamed shop sales assistant had told her hiring manager about her heart condition.

It found she was discriminatorily dismissed after sick leave and ordered the employer to pay €6,500 compensation and review procedures and training.

The case was recorded in January 2026.
