WRC hearing adjourned after witness joined from moving train

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Workplace Relations Commission adjourned a Payment of Wages Act complaint by Kate Rellis against the South East Technological University Student Union after welfare officer Lucy Kate Bosch joined the videoconference from a moving train. Adjudication officer Gaye Cunningham said the noise and public setting made it unsatisfactory to continue. Union president Erin Foley had joined from a car and said Bosch was needed as a witness.

Cunningham said the union could have applied for a postponement and asked that participants attend the next hearing from a reasonably formal setting. The matter was adjourned pending a rescheduled hearing as soon as possible.
