WRC dismisses SolarWinds salesman’s complaints, finding deal intervention justified dismissal

By Gráinne Nolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Ali Izzy’s complaints against SolarWinds Software Europe DAC under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 and the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977. The adjudicator found that Izzy reasonably believed he was reporting wrongdoing, but was not convinced whistleblowing was an operative factor in his dismissal.

The WRC made no ruling on whether Izzy’s corruption allegations were true. It concluded that his intervention to block a sanctioned software deal was misconduct capable of constituting substantial grounds for dismissal; the adjudicator said Izzy would have kept his job if he had not blocked the deal.
