The Workplace Relations Commission upheld complaints by Antóin Ó Dúllaing against Gaelachas Teo after the boarding facility at Choláiste an Phiarsaigh and Scoil na nÓg ceased taking boarders in May 2024. The proceedings were reported on 3 July 2025.

Adjudicator Gaye Cunningham found Ó Dúllaing entitled to statutory redundancy based on 8.9 years’ service from June 2015 to May 2024, with the payment worth over €5,000 subject to confirmation of PRSI status. The WRC also awarded €4,540 for unpaid annual leave and public holidays, and directed payment of €1,080 for each of two breaches involving employment terms and statutory notice.

The WRC rejected his National Minimum Wage Act claim because he had not written to his employer seeking a statement of his hours before referring it. Gaelachas had submitted that he lacked 104 weeks’ continuous service for statutory redundancy.
