The Workplace Relations Commission found Tesco Ireland responsible for three incidents in 2024 in which security staff at its Dublin stores challenged Nadine Lattimore while she was shopping with her guide dog. It awarded her €6,000 compensation for disability discrimination.
The incidents were at Tesco’s Adamstown store on June 3 and at branches in Spencer Dock and Parnell Street on July 16. The adjudicator also directed Tesco to train staff and subcontractors on Equal Status Act obligations, monitor compliance and display signs welcoming guide and assistance dogs at store entrances.
