WRC awards Helen Holland €123,800 after finding part-time work and age discrimination

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Integrity360 Europe Ltd breached protections for part-time workers when it dismissed Helen Holland, and also discriminated against her on age grounds. Adjudicator Pat Brady awarded her €88,800 for the part-time work breach and €35,000 for age discrimination, a total of €123,800.

The WRC said Holland had been given an ultimatum to return to full-time work or retire. The company argued that German law applied and that the claim should be heard in Germany. Brady concluded that Holland could choose the jurisdiction and had chosen Ireland.
