This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Dublin restaurant Shanahan’s on the Green closed abruptly in October 2024. Former staff told the Workplace Relations Commission that they had not received their final week’s wages; six workers with more than a decade of service also said they were entitled to six to eight weeks’ notice pay.

The WRC found breaches of wage payment obligations in complaints by former employees of the restaurant’s operator, JMS International Holdings. Among the awards reported were €3,300 to waiter Luke Carragher, €9,855 to waiter Paul Harte, €5,280 to assistant manager Angelo Lamberti, €5,950 to chef Piotr Fraszczyk and €9,855 to bookkeeper Kathleen Friel. The total awarded against the company to date was €34,992.93.

The WRC’s decision on chef Gheorge Danescu’s complaints had not yet been published when the report appeared on July 7, 2025.
