Celine Carroll was sentenced to two and a half years for arson, with the final 12 months suspended on strict conditions, after pleading guilty to setting fire to a power box at Cherry Orchard Parade on January 18, 2018.

The court heard the fire caused €25,000 in damage, and live footage showed Carroll trying to ignite a second power box on a pole housing a Garda camera. Judge Elva Duffy said the fires were deliberate and took account of Carroll’s apology, personal circumstances and efforts to address her addiction. The report said she had 39 previous convictions.
