This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Windhoist Ireland Limited was placed in provisional liquidation by the High Court on 29 November 2022, after the judge found it insolvent and unable to pay its debts.

The company had been working on a wind farm under construction at Ardderroo, near Moycullen, Co Galway. Its Scottish-based parent was entering administration and could no longer fund the Irish company or provide machinery it used for its work.

The court appointed Nicholas O’Dwyer of Grant Thornton Ireland and Stuart Preston of Grant Thornton UK as joint provisional liquidators. The company had 17 employees in Ireland, and the report said most or all could be made redundant as its contracts were expected to end.

Its reported creditors included its shareholder, owed €7 million in intercompany loans, Revenue, owed more than €600,000, and trade creditors, owed €139,000. The matter was due to return before the court in December.
