Wendy Whitty was remanded in custody for contempt of court at the High Court on 7 March 2019. The case concerned alleged interference with the receivership of investment properties in Wexford and Cork.

Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds said Ms Whitty had failed to comply with undertakings not to interfere with the receivership and needed legal advice. The judge remanded her in prison overnight after she attended court seeking to set aside an earlier committal order and purge her contempt.

Ms Whitty, who was unrepresented, denied breaching the court orders and said she had not gone near the properties. The report said the judge would revisit the situation the following morning.
