Warrant issued for sentencing of Louth woman after car left the road and ended up in field

A bench warrant has been issued for sentencing of a 29-year-old woman after she was convicted of seven offences arising from a single vehicle traffic collision.
Laureen McKeever, Ferdia Park, Ardee, was summonsed for having neither insurance nor driving licence, failing to produce those documents, and Section 6 Public Order at Coast Road, Clogherhead, on July 25, 2024.
She was further accused of two counts of failing to give information to a garda at her Ferdia Park home on the following September 26.
The defendant did not attend Drogheda Court.
Gda David Taheny said that a Nissan Qashqai left the Coast Road, collided with a ditch and ended up in a field.
The car was registered to the defendant who was at the scene, complaining of head injuries.
Gda Taheny continued that a male came up to him and said that he had been driving. After being cautioned he would not confirm that.
Ms McKeever became aggressive and attempted to interfere with the man’s arrest.
The officer said that she grabbed him and he had to push her away. Members of the public were holding her back as he dealt with the other person.
At 11pm he arrested the defendant and brought her to Drogheda Garda Station where she was released pending the issue of summonses.
Gda Taheny added that he went to Laureen McKeever’s house on September 26, 2024 and spoke to her. She said that she didn’t know who was driving.
She subsequently twice apologised to him.
