The Disclosures Tribunal is to recall two senior Donegal gardaí and a Tusla manager over new evidence. This section of the inquiry is scheduled to sit again on 23 October 2017.
Chief Superintendent Terry McGinn, Superintendent Eugene McGovern and Gerry Hone will be questioned about a 29 November 2013 meeting in Letterkenny at which Tusla referrals were discussed generally. Garda Keith Harrison was not mentioned in the minutes. Tusla's lawyer, Paul Anthony McDermott, said the document had not been disclosed because it had no relevance whatsoever to the tribunal's terms of reference.
Further statements have also been requested from Chief Superintendent James Sheridan, Assistant Commissioner Kieran Kenny and Garda civilian analyst Eddie McGooey.
The tribunal is examining contacts between gardaí and Tusla concerning whistleblower Garda Keith Harrison. It also heard about minutes from a 5 November 2013 Garda regional meeting, while chairman Mr Justice Peter Charleton requested an affidavit explaining the methodology used in Garda searches.
