The transgender woman lost her appeal against a six-year-six-month sentence, with the final six months suspended for one year, at the Court of Appeal on 18 March 2021.
She had been convicted of ten counts of sexual assault and one count of child cruelty involving her former partner's son between September 2011 and September 2013.
Ms Justice Isobel Kennedy said the offences were very serious, involved repeated assaults of a very young victim, and represented an abuse of trust, influence and power. The court rejected arguments that the sentence was excessive or failed to account for the challenges the appellant would face in prison.
