Tom O’Riordan continues unfair dismissal and wages case at WRC

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Tom O’Riordan continued his unfair dismissal and unpaid wages complaints against Aer Lingus at the Workplace Relations Commission, with his evidence ending on 21 September 2026.

The veteran Airbus A320 captain was dismissed in 2024 after the airline found his social media campaign about alleged toxic fumes amounted to serious gross misconduct. He argues that he was penalised for protected disclosures and that the flight at issue was unsafe; Aer Lingus denies that he or others were put at risk.

O’Riordan’s evidence concluded on the 20th day of testimony across 25 hearing days. The adjudicator adjourned after giving Aer Lingus a week to decide whether to call further evidence about its sick pay scheme, before closing arguments expected in December.
