Tom O’Connor was remanded on continuing bail at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, with the outcome reported on 31 October 2014, after pleading guilty to handling a stolen Volvo A25D dumper truck. The truck was held at Brittas, Dublin, on a date between December 2009 and April 2010. Judge Desmond Hogan ordered a Probation Services report and said he needed time to consider the sentence. O’Connor, formerly a director of a Kerry plant hire and subcontracting company, had five previous convictions, including possession of a stolen tractor.
