This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Timmy O’Reilly was resentenced for money laundering at the Court of Appeal on 21 March 2023 to 18 months, with the final six months suspended.

The court quashed the fully suspended sentence imposed at Kilkenny Circuit Criminal Court on 28 July 2022. The offences involved about €125,000 in accounts while O’Reilly received social welfare over eight years, with charges spanning 2011 to 2018.

The appeal court found the amount and duration made the offending serious and that a custodial element was required.
